About Us

We hope that you have some fun, learning about our organization and about our western heritage.

The Old West Society of Minnesota has been educating spectators and making new friends from all over Minnesota to Sioux Falls, SD, from Greenbush, Wisconsin to McGregor, IA, from Tombstone, Arizona to Fort Smith, Arkansas.

We have been involved in Historic Re-enactments and Cowboy Action Shooting, since we became a society.

We are looking forward to many more action packed years, and hope that you come see us some time in the near future.

This 50+ member organization aims to preserve and promote interest in the heritage of this part of our country's history, ca.1865-1899. The Society encourages the members to do extensive research so that wardrobe, weapons and trappings will be authentically true.

The Old West Society of Minnesota is available for community events as well as corporate functions and other special events. The Old West Society of Minnesota will make a most memorable addition to your festivities.

Our appearance in your event will be tailored to what you want and can afford.

Members compete in Cowboy Action Shooting using guns typical of the era - single action revolvers, lever action rifles and shotguns. Staging areas for the scenarios are set in an "Old West" style.

The club's "credits" include appearances in movies and commercials: Members featured in national magazines; historical interpretations for the National Park service at Fort Smith, Arkansas; re-enactments; television and radio appearances.

Join us at our events and transport yourself back to the Old West! Walk through our tent town & experience the "Living History" as we live it. Witness the Robbery of the Wells Fargo shipment - the Gun fight at the OK Corral - Meet Annie Oakley & Calamity Jane. Mingle with cattlemen, lawmen & townspeople and watch cowboys & cowgals twirl ropes & guns, crack whips, watch & learn about range cooking & chuck wagon fare and more!
